Weir Roto-Jet
Features
The Weir Roto-Jet is a high head, low flow, single stage centrifugal pump that has been trusted by a range of industries for the past twenty-five years including the food and beverage, pulp and paper, and petrochemical and refining industries. The performance flexibility and other operational benefits of the Roto-Jet make it ideal for the central cleaning systems for the food industry and high pressure showers for the paper industry.
Weir Roto-Jet's strong reputation has been founded on its commitment to continued development and its reliable, stable operation. It is this stability and consistency, as well as the many other features and benefits, which mark the Weir Roto-Jet as a premier pressure pump.
- DESIGN SIMPLICITY
The Weir Roto-Jet pitot tube design produces high pressure through a single stage without requiring high speeds, close clearances or complicated controls that are required by other pump designs.
- SUPERIOR OPERATION
The Weir Roto-Jet pump can reach a high pressure at low RPM, resulting in significantly lower noise during operation than high speed and positive displacement pump comparisons.
- PERFORMANCE FLEXIBILITY
The Weir Roto-Jet pump can operate at any flow condition on its head curve. This makes the pump ideally suited for applications with varying flow requirements.
The Weir Roto-Jet pump can perform unlimited stop/starts providing the operator with complete control over the system.
The Weir Roto-Jet pump performance, both flow and head, are easily changed. Matching speed to duty conditions increases the cost effectiveness of the pump.
The Weir Roto-Jet pump is able to stand the shock caused by critical upset conditions. The pump rotating assembly does not seize if run dry due to loss of suction. It is also less sensitive to design conditions which means the Roto-Jet will work when other pumps fail!
- EASE OF MAINTENANCE
Pump rotor assembly is completely sealed preventing interface between the liquid and the shaft. Hence there is no need for a mechanical seal in the high pressure area of the pump, resulting in prolonged component life and ease of maintenance.
With few moving parts routine maintenance can be accomplished with minimal effort.
Applications
- Food Processing
The Roto-Jet's ability to vary its flow and operate throughout its head curve has made it a natural fit for providing high pressure water to the central cleaning systems of the food industry.
- Pulp and Paper
High pressure water showers are used to clean the screens and felts of the paper machine. Roto-Jet pumps excel in these shower applications because of their ability to meet changing process requirements.
High pressure water jet cutters are used for paper skirting (trim squirt). Roto-Jet excels in these operations because of its ability to produce consistent stable operation which is required for a clean cut during trimming. Additionally, the Roto-Jet pumps can run dry and can easily be changed to match production, unlike other positive displacement pumps.
- Petrochemical and Petroleum Refining
Roto-Jet pump's ability to produce high head from a single stage at relatively low operating speeds has allowed it to be used successfully in a wide range of applications within the petrochemical and refining industries.
